Friday's Fragrance

I think of good words and thoughts as good fragrance which accompanies the person and which affect people who are around him or her. As Friday is the special day of the week for us Muslims I would like to impart a few words of wisdom from a Hadith or an Aalim  which I see from the web or a book.

Once a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and asked him, “What do I need to do get to Paradise?” he said, “Don’t get angry!”

That’s all – don’t get angry! To have the patience and the control where one stops oneself from exploding. That patience would be enough to carry him to Paradise. That’s how important patience is. (Dr Bilal Phillips)

May Allah help us to control our anger….

Hooked to Yarn

A kind old lady taught basics of crocheting when I was just twelve. I made simple items like hair scrunchies for myself. I  stopped crocheting after 2 or 3 years as I couldn’t buy yarn. I started crocheting again after fifteen years. When I had my daughter I wanted to make beautiful things for her.  This time I watched couple of videos on YouTube to relearn.

Following are some of my finished items

My first crochet bag.

crocheted for my lovely niece, was inspired by tangled happy granny bag..

My first crochet hat.

for my lovely baby girl

Some headbands.
My cuty pie of a niece (photo credit goes to my sister)

A cupcake for my little cupcake ;)

Note; Yeah.., I know my pictures are terrible and my crocheting is not any better either, but I’m a beginner, so I hope you’ll forgive me :))

Welcome to my blog!

Assalaam  Alaikum..

Hi! I’m Ummu Zainab, I’m a Muslimah, a stay at home mother to my darling daughter and wife to my loving husband ,  this blog is about my experiences, thoughts and feelings. I love crocheting, cooking and sewing. I’m a breast feeding and cloth diapering mamma.

I have been thinking about starting a blog since I had my daughter back in August but for one reason or the other I wasn’t able to begin until now. As I’m a stay at home mom I don’t get to meet many adults and therefore   don’t get to share my experiences with others, so here I’m going to talk your ears off (or shall I say right your eyes off.)
